Floating Village Guidebook
Written by Branly
As you can guess, the floating village’s cliff is located close to a floating village. The village is an amalgamation of fish breeding, kayak rental, tourist overnight accommodation, night karaoke and gambling. You can easily identify the cliff thanks to its shape (looks like a cake). During high-tide, this spot is perfect for those who want to start DWS. When the tide becomes lower, the start becomes a jump start, making it much more difficult.

Review

Cat Ba to the Floating Village: 1h
Number of routes: 6+
Accessible at high tide: 6+
Accessible at low tide: 6+  “if you got ups” (depends on how high you can jump)
Grades: 4a - > 6
Water depth: ok
Rock: good
Other: this spot is close to Cat Ba and offers many easy routes on a vertical wall. It is a good place to learn when the tide is high. During low tide, the main difficulty is the start because you have to jump out of your kayak to reach the first holds.  Makes for great balance and coordination training.
