Hello Jean,
I was on the climbing trip to Halong Bay with T. Skinner, L. Hill, etc in 1996, and did all the photography on that expedition. I may be returning to Halong for a photographic project, and would like some information about the weather in late June and early July. Is it far too hot and rainy to climb? Or is it possible, but with lots of bad days? Any information would be very welcome!

Quelle ne fut pas ma surprise en voyant notre Jean national s''affranchir des lois de l''apesanteur, en apercevant le fluide de la roche circuler à travers ses muscles tendus vers un seul but: entrer en parfaite osmose avec la paroi, faire block avec le granit, communier avec la moindre aspérité...Jean, tu es vraiment le plus roots d''entre nous, celui qui maitrise le spirit. Thanx for the making site available to everyone. I''ve been wanting to climb or waiting for when climbing in Vietnam is easier to access. Hopefully thru exposer the local Vietnamese will try it out and maybe even enjoy the challanges of it.

Site très riche en informations aussi bien général que relatif à l'escalade, bravo et bravo pour l'esthétique aussi! J'ai passé 4 semaines cet été à parcourir le Vietnam et je ne pouvais pas m'imaginé, étant grimpeur, en voyant la baie d'Halong que personne n'ait jamais cherché à taquiner ce potentiel. Je suis ravi de l'apprendre un peu tard certes. C'est parti remise. Bon courage pour la suite. Tu travailles au Vietnam? J'ai apprécié l'éclairage sur la population et sur la langue.
