Nha Trang, Under the Cobblestones, the Beach
South Vietnam
Written by Branly
Nha Trang is the capital of Khanh Hoa province. This seaside resort is famous for its beach attendants, its microclimate, and its 7 km beach running alongside its main street, Tran Phu Avenue. In the past, this region was part of the former Kingdom of Champa, and ruled by the Chams, a minority that continue to constitute one of Vietnam’s 54 ethnicities today. Remnants of Cham domination remains in the form of beautiful Hindu and Khymer- style temples and towers.

Bouldering

A bunch of boulders call for your sweaty hands on Hon Chong Promontory. Boulders are surrounded by the sea, and waves break a few meters from your crash pad.

Rock: excellent granite
Landing: granite, it’s advisable to bring a crash pad.

This is not Fontainebleau or Hueco, there are only around 10 respectable boulders but the problems are interesting, features are nice, and the landscape is amazing, in spite of many visitors.

How to get there?

Hon Chong Promontory is located in the North of Nha Trang, around 4 kms from the center. Take the road to reach Cham tower of Po Nagar, then the 2nd road on your right after the Xom Bong Bridge. You must pay a fee to enter on the Hon Chong Promontory (as it’s a tourist destination).

"Bouldering is like masturbation: not as good as the real thing but you don't need to worry about your protection."
